A ground-breaking ceremony for what will soon be a new soccer stadium in Hartford will take place at 2 p.m. on Monday.
Dillon stadium used to be an old football field, but will now be the home to Connecticut‘s new professional soccer team, the ‘Hartford Athletic.’ Governor Dan Malloy and Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin will be attending.
The ‘Hartford Athletic’ plans to play their first set of games for the inaugural season in 2019.
The team is part of the United Soccer League – just one tier below Major League Soccer.
