Hartford plants trees to celebrate Arbor Day


Friday, April 26th is Arbor Day and the city of Hartford is celebrating with a community tree-planting event! 

Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated holiday that encourages tree plantings and tree care in communities across the United States. 

Volunteers will gather at the Metzner Early Center on Franklin Avenue to plant trees and shrubs in the neighborhood.

The event will include employee-volunteers from The Hartford and students from Watkinson School 

It is all part of an initiative to put 20,000 trees throughout the city over the next 20 years!

The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with the rain date being next Friday, May 3rd.
