HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut’s Department of Revenue Services is moving its main office’s walk-in center for taxpayers to downtown Hartford.

The current location on Sigourney Street will remain open through Thursday. The center will re-open the morning of Aug. 23 at 450 Columbus Boulevard. Parking will be available for a fee at the Morgan Street Garage.

DRS Commissioner Kevin Sullivan says the new location is more central and accessible.

Taxpayers seeking assistance during the move can visit the walk-in centers at DRS regional offices in Bridgeport, Norwich and Waterbury. These locations can help taxpayers file their Connecticut tax returns, accept non-cash payments and register new businesses.

Licensed Connecticut cigarette distributors can also purchase tax stamps at the walk-in centers.
