Bicyclist traveling cross country stops in Hartford while raising awareness for rare diseases

Connecticut Children’s Medical Center was helping raise awareness for rare diseases on Monday.

The hospital did it alongside Christopher Klein’s Care-for-Rare Foundation for Children, which is based out of Munich, Germany.

German cyclist Jorg Richter is riding from San Francisco to New York City to help raise awareness for children with rare diseases.

Monday’s stop in Hartford is one of the last stops on his trip.

“My idea about doing something for these, all forms of medicine, is much bigger than I ever dreamed of,” Richter said.

Richter started his journey at the beginning of April and has been documenting his experiences on social media.
