East Haven mayor reports town’s first coronavirus-related death


EAST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — East Haven has reported its first coronavirus-related death.

On Thursday, Mayor Joseph Carfora said a woman in her 80s passed away after contracting the virus.

Carfora said she lived in her own home.

It is unclear if she is included in the state’s 21 coronavirus deaths.

Residents are encouraged to continue to practice social distancing and wash their hands.
