Conn. (WTNH) — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved Governor Ned Lamont’s request to create safe spaces for survivors of domestic violence during the coronavirus pandemic.

These individuals will now be able to seek shelter at the same places where first-responders and healthcare workers can go, including hotels and college dorm spaces.

Victims of domestic violence who need help relocating can call 2-1-1.
