Infection prevention expert explains some side effects of getting the COVID-19 vaccine

With more and more people getting vaccinated against COVID, more stories are emerging about side effects, especially after the second dose of the vaccine.

Keith Grant, Senior System Director of Infection Prevention at Hartford HealthCare, joined News 8 to talk about those side effects.

Those side effects can include pain at the site of injection, as well as swelling and redness. Grant says these are consistent with what many of the subjects in both the Pfizer and Moderna vaccine trials have experienced.
