CVS, Aetna complete $69B deal

CVS Health grew even larger on Wednesday when the company completed its acquisition of Aetna.

The $69 billion merger was announced after both companies said they expected the deal to close during the week

“Today marks the start of a new day in health care and a transformative moment for our company and our industry,” stated CVS Health President and Chief Executive Officer Larry J. Merlo.

Back in October, CVS Health announced that it had reached an agreement with the U.S. Department of Justice that allowed the acquisition to go through.

CVS Health has nearly 10,000 locations.
