(WTNH) – Phone scams against the elderly are on the rise across the nation. According to the FBI, more than 3.5 million older adults are victims of financial exploitation each year and seniors targeted by these fraudsters suffer an average loss of $34,200.

To talk about how to prevent the scams is Betty Duncan, Geriatric Care Manager from Hartford HealthCare’s Center for Healthy Aging.
