(WTNH) — As Connecticut reopens this summer, healthcare workers are seeing an uptick in injuries.

It might not feel like summer, but the unofficial start of summer is here and that means more people are getting outside and taking on new activities; with that comes the risk of getting hurt.

News 8 spoke to chief of trauma, Dr. Jonathan Gates, MD, MBA, FACS of Hartford Healthcare to talk about summertime trauma injuries and how to avoid them.
