Total Connecticut flu deaths hit 78 for the season


The number of flu deaths in Connecticut increased again. 

On Thursday afternoon, the Department of Public Health said that one more person had died from the flu this week, bringing the total to 78 deaths in Connecticut.  

The department stated that 3,366 patients were hospitalized with influenza between Aug. 26th, 2018 and May 11th, 2019.

Of those who died from the flu, 53 were aged 65 or older. 20 of the people who passed away were between 50 and 64 years old. Four were people between 25 and 49 years old. One person who died was between 5 and 17 years old.
