NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The state Senate has unanimously passed a bipartisan bill requiring new police officers in Connecticut to receive training in de-escalating mental health situations. Now it’s up for a vote in the House.

Dr. Sten Vermund, a Yale School of Public Health professor, joined Lisa Carberg on News 8 at Noon to talk about the bill’s importance.
