Holiday hospitalization carries higher risks


New research shows that holidays are a risky time to be in the hospital.

According to a recent study, patients sent home during the two week Christmas and New Year holiday period were more likely to be readmitted or die within 30 days.

Medical experts say that’s because of medical errors, under staffing, or staff fatigue

There’s also the fact that many patients are unwilling to be in the hospital during the holidays.
