House of Representatives pass Kate’s Law

News

(WTNH) — The House of Representatives passed Kate’s Law just a few hours ago.

It is now headed to the Senate.

The bill cuts federal funding to sanctuary cities like New Haven.

Kate’s Law would also increase maximum penalties for undocumented immigrants who repeatedly enter the country illegally after deportation.

The bill is named after Kate Steinle who was murdered on a San Francisco pier by an alleged undocumented immigrant.
