A new study finds parents are waiting too long to start brushing their children’s teeth.

Health care professionals say brushing should start when the child gets their first tooth, but government health officials say 80 percent of parents do not start then.

They also found that about one-third of kids only brush their teeth once a day.

Experts say kids should go to the dentist no later than their first birthday.
