NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A man died after he was hit by a car while walking on I-91 South in New Haven Sunday night.

According to state police, a Honda Pilot EXL was traveling in the left center lane of four just before 10 p.m. when it hit a man who was walking in the travel lanes.

The man was projected south from the collision, sending him into the left center lane. He was then run over by two cars: a Mini Cooper and Toyota Corolla.

Police said the man, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is an active investigation.
