I-95 north in Branford reopens following deadly 3-vehicle crash


One person has died in a crash involving three vehicles along Interstate 95 Northbound in Branford on Friday morning.

According to State police, the crash occurred just before 6:45 a.m. on the northbound side on I-95 between exits 54 and 55. The northbound lanes of the highway were shut down for almost five hours to allow first responders to clear the crash scene, and for Troopers to conduct their initial investigation.

State police confirmed that one person had died, and there are other people hurt. Troopers could not specify the number of people hurt, or the extent of their injuries.

It is unclear what may have caused the crash. All northbound lanes of 95 were reopened by 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon.
