Darien man charged with manslaughter in Anguilla claims self-defense

(WTNH) - New information about a Darien man charged with manslaughter in the Caribbean.

A spokesperson for 44-year-old Scott Hapgood says this was a case of self defense, that the maintenance man showed up unexpectedly at his hotel room in Anguilla.

He reportedly had a weapon and demanded money from him. Hapgood is free on bond.

He's due in court on the island in August.
