Explosives break up ice jams along China-Russia border

(WTNH) - In the video above, it may look like you are watching The Bellagio's fountain show in Las Vegas.

What you are actually watching is an icy explosion.

Crews overseas used these explosions to break up ice on the Amur River, which is on the China-Russia border.

They did this to prevent potential ice jams that could have flooded nearby homes.

The explosions certainly made for an entertaining show, but let's hope we're done with snow and ice for the season!
