Police are investigating after a man was shot multiple times in Waterbury on Monday night.
Police say just before 10 p.m., officers responded to Welles Street for the report of shots fired. Upon arrival, they found glass and shell casings in the street, as well as several people reporting hearing several gunshots and a car speeding off.
While officers were investigating on Welles Street, a separate call came in to police reporting a man with gunshot injuries on Porter Street. Police then responded to that scene where they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot injuries being treated by EMS.
The victim and a woman who he was with then told police that this shooting had taken place in the area of Bank Street and Porter Street.
