Mayor Harp travels to China to recruit businesses


New Haven Mayor Toni Harp traveled overseas with hopes of bringing some business back to The Elm City.

On Wednesday, the mayor said via Facebook that she is on a several-day trip with her staff and Board of Alders President Tyisha Walker.

The post stated that the purpose of the trip was to “recruit businesses and trade as well as promoting international cooperation and peace in Beijing.”

The mayor did not state what specific type of business she was looking to recruit.
