Milford raising age to purchase tobacco products to 21


The City of Milford raised the minimum legal sales age for tobacco products to 21.

The change will take effect on April 19th.

At least 350 localities across the United States have enacted Tobacco 21 laws.

As of April 19th, the Milford Police Department will be authorized to enforce the following provisions:

  • No person or retailer shall give, sell or otherwise distribute any Tobacco Product to any person under 21 years of age.
  • All persons and retailers will have to post signages that states: “The State of Tobacco or Nicotine Products or Devices to Persons under 21 is Prohibit” within 30 days of the effective date of ordinance.
