Connecticut National Guard soldiers return from Africa

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Seventy Connecticut National Guard soldiers were welcomed home Thursday night.

The soldiers were in the 1-102nd Infantry Battalion supporting Operation Enduring Freedom Horn of Africa Mission. They were in Djibouti and Kenya, protecting critical infrastructure and training with partner forces.

The 70 soldiers are part of the first wave of the more than 500 Connecticut National Guard soldiers returning from overseas in the coming weeks.
