Motor vehicle stop leads to 3 arrests in East Haven


Three people are facing charges after a motor vehicle stop in East Haven.

According to officials, on Tuesday around 3:50 p.m., a motor vehicle stop was conducted in the area of Main Street and Charter Oak Avenue.

A K-9 officer arrived on scene to conduct an exterior sweep of the vehicle. While conducting the sweep, the K-9 unit gave positive indication of narcotics in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, authorities said they found heroin, crack cocaine, powder cocaine, more than 100 various pills, and $6,000. The narcotics were packaged for resale and have a street value between $15,000 and $20,000.

Police then arrested 35-year-old Vincent Verderame of East Haven, 30-year-old Danny Rodriguez of New Haven, and 22-year-old Taisha Franco of East Haven. All three are facing charges of possession of narcotics, conspiracy to sell narcotics and other related charges.

Each person was released on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 5th.
