Mystic Aquarium caring for seal rescued in Bermuda

News

Mystic Aquarium is now caring for a gray seal rescued off the coast of Bermuda.

Since gray seals are known to live in coastal waters north of New York, they’ve never been found in Bermuda until this seal was recused on March 19. The seal, named Lou-Seal was emaciated, dehydrated and had multiple wounds. During her stay at Bermuda Aquarium, she became a local celebrity.

Now, after a long journey, she’s at Mystic Aquarium, which has more space for her continued care. She’ll be nursed back to health, with a focus on helping her gain weight. The plan is to release her back into the wild when she’s healthy.
