Drunk man rescued from icy Chicago River

Police rescued a man from the icy waters of the Chicago River overnight Tuesday after they say he had too much to drink and decided to go swimming.

The response started when security guards heard the 29-year-old man yelling for help.

They threw him a life ring to help him stay afloat until authorities arrived.

Once on scene, police pulled him to shore and out of the water.

He was hospitalized in stable condition.
