Parkland survivors and families of victims filing more than 20 lawsuits for negligence

Survivors of the Parkland shooting and families of victims are filing more than 20 lawsuits.

The suits name the school board, the sheriff’s office, an unarmed campus security monitor, and an armed guard.

They accuse the school district and sheriff’s office of negligence.

Attorney Bob Kelly said, “This is an open and shut case, not only against Nicholas cruz, but also against the school board and the sheriff’s office and the bungling bureaucrats who let this unfold.”

The plaintiffs are seeking millions of dollars in damages. These are not the first lawsuits related to the shooting.

A judge dismissed a similar suit from 15 survivors in December on due process grounds.
