The National Park Service predicts a slightly earlier peak than originally expected.
Experts have been watching the weather and blooming stages of the trees to offer their best guess. Temperatures in the 70’s this weekend will help the trees reach peak bloom by Monday.
April 1st is just a few days earlier than the average peak bloom. But it is right in the middle of the National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C. which runs until April 14th.
