Pentagon adjusting budget to begin building border wall

National

On Tuesday night, The Pentagon adjusted its budget to spend one billion dollars to begin building the border wall.

This comes after the Democrat-controlled House failed to override President Trump’s veto of the resolution to terminate his border wall national emergency.

The pentagon says the billion will allow for construction of a 57 mile stretch of wall.

They say the change will not impact military readiness.

Patrick Shanahan, the Acting Secretary of Defense said, “Given a legal order from the commander in chief we are executing on that order.”

The Pentagon is still looking for another 2.5 billion for the wall.

Democrats say they’ve got two more chances to slow the build: a court challenge and a vote on next year’s budget.
