Plane in Jacksonville slides off runway and falls into river, no fatalities

An aircraft slid off the runway at Naval Air Station Jacksonville Airport and fell into the St. Johns River in Florida, WFLA reports.

The Boeing 737 plane carrying around 150 passengers slid off the runway and crashed into a river as it was landing in Jacksonville, Florida. The plane went off a runway near the naval air station. The flight originated from Guantanamo Bay.

The noncommercial flight was arriving from Naval Station Guatanamo Bay.

There were 21 people sent to the hospital and all are in good condition. Jacksonville mayor Lenny Curry Tweeted that all passengers are alive and accounted for.

Crews are working to control jet fuel in the water.

The NTSB is investigating the crash.
