Naugatuck police seek two men wanted for counterfeiting

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Naugatuck are seeking two men who are believed to have been involved in purchases made with counterfeit money.

According to police, on Jan. 19, two men purchased $720 in gift cards at Walmart using counterfeit money in denominations of $20 bills.

Officials describe the suspects as black men in their 20’s or 30’s. Police say one man is thin, possibly with braids or dreadlocks who spoke with a British accent. Authorities say the other man is heavyset.

Naugatuck police believe the two suspects are connected to multiple counterfeit cases, including one in West Hartford.
