Nearly 20,000 people died from a distracted driving-related crash in past decade


The first day of May means the end of Distracted Driving Awareness Month and the state’s month-long crackdown. 

Over the past decade, distracted driving has become one of the leading causes of crashes on the roads.

Nearly 20,000 people died from a crash where the driver wasn’t paying attention. 

And while the numbers are going down, there is still a lot more work to be done.
