New Britain man arrested after shots fired


NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Britain Police have arrested a man after an early morning fight Tuesday wound up with shots being fired. Police got a call just before 2 a.m. about shots fired on the east side of the city. When they got there they found a victim who they say had been punched, kicked and pistol whipped by Craig Salva, 25. Police say Salva fired two shots in the direction of the victim but didn’t hit anything. Police say Salva took off before they got there, but they eventually tracked him down at a home in Durham. Salva is charged with Assault, Breach of Peace, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Attempt to Commit Assault in the First Degree, Threatening First Degree, Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, Criminal Possession of a Firearm, and Reckless Endangerment First Degree.
