New Haven police investigate after man shot twice outside apartment

New Haven police are investigating after a 25-year-old man was shot outside an apartment building on Thursday night.

Police say that at around 11:35 p.m., officers responded to 320 Quinnipiac Avenue in regards to a person who had been shot. 

Upon arrival, they found 25-year-old Jonathan Brito, of New Haven, inside of an apartment. He had been shot twice.

Brito allegedly told officers that he had been shot outside but was unable to tell investigators much more. He was then rushed to surgery where he was listed in critical but stable condition. 

The shooting remains under investigation.
