NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) – New Haven police are investigating a shooting on Jackson Lane that left one man injured and a gunfire incident on Foxon Boulevard Tuesday night, that they believe are connected.

New Haven Task Force officers witnessed someone firing a gun out of a moving car on Foxon Boulevard at the intersection of Quinnipiac Avenue around 6:30 p.m. Police said officers were able to get a description of car and its occupants before losing sight of it.

A short time later, New Haven police received a call regarding a person shot on Jackson Lane. Upon arrival to the scene, officers located a 23-year-old New Haven man suffering from a gunshot wound.

American Medical Response transported the victim to Yale New Haven Hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Bureau of Identification responded to the scene and collected ballistic evidence. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit are leading the investigation.

Police believe they found the car used in the shooting in Bridgeport and it was towed to the New Haven police garage for processing.
