New Haven police officers undergo tourniquet training


There is an update on the effort to train the entire New Haven Police Department to “Stop the Bleed.”

Officers have been learning how to use tourniquets, so they can save a life in a case of severe bleeding.

The goal is for every person to recognize life-threatening bleeding and be able to intervene effectively.

So far, Yale New Haven Hospital has provided more than 700 tourniquets for officers.
