News 8 has obtained surveillance video of a man being shot last month on a busy sidewalk in the Westville section of New Haven.
Police say on Saturday, Sept. 22, just before 2 a.m., officers were posted at Roosevelt’s Bar at 883 Whalley Ave. to clear the crowd after closing when they heard gunfire.

The victim, 32-year-old Tomone Archie Lindsay, of New Haven, was then found in front of a closed business. He had been shot in the leg.
Lindsay told police he did not know who shot him. A parked car was also hit by gunfire.
News 8’s Mario Boone obtained the surveillance video through a source.

Police say that while Roosevelt’s does often hire an extra duty officer on weekends, it takes many on-duty officers to clear out the area.
The bar says that the shooting is not connected to the business.
