WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – This year, News 8 teamed up with the Connecticut Foodshare for the GR8 Thanksgiving Food Drive and collected a total of 367 turkeys.

On Saturday, the News 8 team collected turkeys and non-perishable food items at the Connecticut Foodshare in Wallingford. During the drive, community members gave away 8,009 lbs. of non-perishable food.

Those who weren’t able to make it donated online, raising $2,762. Monetary donations can still be made online through November 30 here.

With combined food and online donations, 15,134 meals will be donated to community members in need this Thanksgiving.
