NORWICH, Conn. (WTNH) – Norwich police are investigating a shooting on East Main Street on Tuesday morning.
Police said officers responded to the area around 7:30 a.m. Officers located a female with a gunshot wound to her left leg.
The victim was brought to Backus Hospital where she is being treated for her injuries.
According to police, the suspect, who was identified as Larry Brown, had his juvenile child with him at the time of the shooting. Brown fled the scene and was located around 9:30 a.m. in Hartford, according to Norwich police.
The child was also located safe and unharmed.
Brown was charged with first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor, and several other charges. He was held on a $500,000 bond and will be in court on Wednesday.
