A man was arrested for allegedly stabbing and killing a teen in Hartford on Wednesday night.
According to authorities, officers responded to report of a stabbing took place on Park Street just before 11:30 p.m. When crews arrived, they say 19-year-old Jahvunique Dean of Hartford was found with a stab wound to the chest.
Officials say the teen was taken to the hospital, where they were later pronounced dead.
Police say information about a suspect vehicle and the direction it was traveling was giving to officers on scene. They say they began to canvass the area and located the suspected car in a driveway on Broad Street.
Officials say the suspect was located and later identified as 44-year-old John Drayton of Hartford. They say he was arrested, charged with murder and is being held on a $1 million bond.
This incident is the city’s 15th homicide this year.
