The goal is to jump-start the state’s effort to end homelessness among youth and young adults by the end of 2020.

At 11 a.m., Governor Ned Lamont and other officials gathered to announce details about the plan.

“We’re talking about kids in our communities, who don’t know where they’re going to spend the night.” Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin explained. “And if we want to make sure that every kid in our state has the opportunity to be what they’re capable of being, we have to make sure they’ve got the stability that comes with having a home.”

Kiley Gosselin, the Executive Director of the Partnership for Strong Communities said, “This effort has the potential to show us just how effective we can be when our systems are aligned.”

Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz said there are about 5,000 young people statewide who are homeless or have unstable housing.
