HAMDEN, Conn. — Hamden Police and Hamden Fire Rescue personnel responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with injuries at approximately 8:30 a.m. on Monday.

The accident, which involved two cars, happened at 2460 Dixwell Avenue on Monday morning, according to the Hamden Police Department. Officials said the first vehicle was exiting Tommy K’s Plaza when it was struck by another vehicle that was traveling southbound on Dixwell.

According to officials, the driver of the first car had to be extricated from their vehicle by Hamden Fire Rescue. The victim was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital. Officials said the injuries do not seem life-threatening.

The Traffic Division is conducting an investigation.
