PD: 24-year-old Hamden man dies after fall in parking lot


HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Hamden police are investigating after a 24-year-old man died from falling in a parking lot on Sunday.

Police say officers responded to Andale Restaurant, at 3307 Whitney Avenue around 11:50 p.m., after a report of an unconscious person, later identified as Lorenzo Cucciniello, of Hamden. Fire department personnel arrived on scene moments later to render medical aid, before Cucciniello was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Tuesday, Cucciniello died from his injuries. A preliminary investigation revealed that he had fallen in the parking lot, striking his head on the ground.

An autopsy will be performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Farmington. The incident remains under investigation by the Hamden Police Department Major Crimes Division.
