PD: 3 burglars crash stolen car in Old Saybrook

OLD SAYBROOK, Conn. (WTNH) — Old Saybrook Police have placed three people under arrest after they allegedly stole from multiple cars and fled in a stolen car Thursday morning.

Police say that three criminals fled in a Durango stolen from Coach Road in Glastonbury after police attempted to arrest them for burglarizing vehicles.

Two of the suspects in the stolen vehicle were immediately arrested after the driver struck a tree during the pursuit. A third suspect fled the scene but was soon found by Police K-9’s about 45 minutes later.

Main Street between Maple Avenue and East Avenue was closed to traffic as police investigated but has since reopened. However it remains an active scene so police urge drivers to avoid the area.

It’s unclear if anyone was injured in the crash. The three suspects have not been identified at this time. The incident remains under investigation.
