PD: Man armed with knife on run after entering New Britain home, assaulting sleeping woman

New Britain police are looking for a man who they say entered a sleeping woman’s apartment and assaulted her.

According to police, on Monday around 11:40 p.m., 31-year-old Alvin Torres was armed with a knife when he entered the home and alleged that he would assault anyone who came in after him.

Officials say the victim attempted to escape but could not get away.

The New Britain SWAT team responded to the scene.

According to police, Torres was not located at the apartment and it is that believed he left the scene prior to police arrival.

His whereabouts are not known at this time.

He currently has an active felony warrant out of Bristol.
