PD: Man charged after intentionally starting fire at Newington motel

A Manchester man is facing charges after police said he intentionally started a fire at a Newington motel.

According to officials, on Tuesday, police served an active arrest warrant on 27-year-old Guillermo Serrano.

Police said on Feb. 13th, Serrano forced entry into a room at the Grantmoor Motor Lodge located at 3000 Berlin Turnpike and started the blaze while guests were inside other rooms.

After a short foot pursuit on Tuesday, Serrano was taken into custody.

He was charged with burglary, arson and other related charges.

He was detained on a $1 million bond and appeared in court on Wednesday.
