PD: Woman charged after car crashes into a pole in Canton

CANTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Route 179 in Canton has reopened after a car crashed into a pole early Thursday morning.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported at 3:09 a.m. that Route 179 was closed between East Mountain Road and Morgan road after a car crashed into a pole.

The road has reopened after it was shut down for over five hours.

The operator, 28-year-old Vanessa Ray of Canton, has been charged with Operating Under the Influence and Failure to Drive in the Established Lane.

She was released on a promise to appear in court on March 3.
