Police in Chicago raid wrong home

News

A Chicago family is taking legal action after their home was raided by police by mistake.

The family’s attorney says swat team members forced them from their home during the incident back in August.

They say an assault rifle was pointed at the mother’s chest as she held her four-year-old.

They stood outside for more than an hour during the raid — with the grandmother dressed in only a t-shirt and underwear.

The family lawyer says the children — ages four to 13 — were traumatized by the incident.

“Ms. Tate and Ms. Eason have so far protected their children or grandchildren from violent elements on their block. but they could not protect them from the Chicago police”, said Al Hofeld, Jr., the family’s attorney.

The Chicago police department has not yet responded to the suit.
