Police investigate homicide after woman found strangled in Burlington


Police have identified the woman who was found dead in Burlington on Sunday. 

According to police, 26-year-old Kelsey Mazzamaro, of Litchfield, was found dead near Upson Road at around 11 a.m. after officers received reports of a body found in water.

An autopsy has now revealed that someone strangled her to death.  The medical examiners office reports that she died from neck compression.

Police are now investigating her death as a homicide

Detectives from Western District Major Crime have assumed the investigation. Police say there is no threat to the community.
