NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police are investigating two shootings Thursday night near Newhall Street that left two men injured.
Officers responded to a Shotspotter alert and calls for a person shot on Hazel Street, between Newhall Street and Shelton Avenue, around 8:15 p.m.
They found a 39-year-old Meridan man suffering gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
About 30 minutes later, police received another Shotspotter alert on Read Street, between Winchester Avenue and Newhall Street.
Officers were told that a 29-year-old New Haven man had been shot on Read Street and stopped an ambulance on Chapel and College streets. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
Police have not said whether the shootings are connected.
No arrests have been made.
